Bess Swantner

Welcome! I am an artist and architect living in San Antonio, Texas.  I began painting in high school in Comfort, Texas, under the instruction of Larry Tarrillion.  My love for the creative process led me to study architecture at Texas A&M and the University of Texas.  After practicing architecture for several years, I stepped away from full-time practice to focus on raising my children.  This time has allowed me to reconnect with painting again.  

I am most interested in using watercolor to depict light and color found in nature and the built environment.  I hope that my work inspires others to find beauty in everyday moments.
